I am currenty responsible for the geological management of 5 open pits of primary kaolin deposit in Cornwall, UK.
Over the past 4 years, my missions included short to long term objectives, in mine exploration, production, resource and projects:
- Planned 3 drilling campaigns (4km) and managed the logging, sampling and QA/QC programs.
- Undertook cost-benefit study of in-house vs. contract drilling. Results used to justify the purchase of in-house drill rig for 2019.
- Manage all aspects of the resource modelling process.
-Managed project to implement newer, more advanced methods of resource modelling and estimation.
-Carried out pit optimisation, design and scheduling for Higher Moor pit to assist mine planning team.

I worked on different project as per needed by the different mining sites. It was an in-house technical consulting support to Imerys’ global operations:
- EDA, resource modelling, basic mine design and scheduling.
- Geomodelling for Talc (France) and Kaolin (Thailand) using Leapfrog
- Geomodelling and Resource estimation process mapping for Andalusite (France)
- Short term scheduling and production geology for kaolin (Brazil).
I also assisted with various site Reserves & Resources (R&R) audits, which allowed my to understand better the reporting codes and regulations
And finally, I managed and updated Imerys’ consolidated R&R reporting database.
Junior Exploration Geologist
(from January 2013 to July 2013)
I helped the local geology team to log and sample 2km of drill core in Imerys’ primary kaolin deposits in Cornwall, UK, then carried out full resource modelling exercise for an open pit inclusive of EDA, 3D modelling, variography, block modelling for use in mine planning.
I also managed a global density study on the whole operation, done by the water displacement method.
Junior Exploration Geologist
(from July 2011 to November 2011)
I undertook brownfield ball clay exploration project (800km2) in south-east France, identifying 26 targets. I then planned, implemented, logged and sampled a campaign of auger drilling on the majority of these targets and realised the laboratory studies on the samples (MBI, PSD and CaCO3 content).
(from September 2008 to July 2013)
2 years of basic geological knowledge: petrography, sedimentology, geochemistry, mineralogy, 4 months field work... coupled with normal sciences such as maths, physics and chemistry
1 year of applied geology: geotechnics, hydrogeology, petroleum (oil & gas), mining and exploration, followed by a 4 months exploration project
1 year of specilisation in the extractive industries: petroleum (oil & gas), mining and exploration, including a semester abroad in Canada (Mining Geology)
1 year of specialisation in the mining industry: exploration, deposit formation, advanced geochemistry, mineralisations, reosurce modelling, followed by a 6 month resource estimation project
