Seeking 1st year Apprenticeship
Hi my names Cheri, I am seeking a position as a 1st year Apprentice chef on a permanent part time basis. I am hope fully seeking a position in a catering company if possible please.
This is a minimum of 21 hours a week over 4 ½ years. One day at TAFE is 8 hours and 13+ hours at work.
When school holidays are on there is no TAFE I can work that day. The reason I would like to go part time I am on night time dialysis so I can work through the day without interruption and up to 9pm at night. I am hopefully seeking a day time position if possible.
I have a great passion for cooking and have worked in the hospitality industry most of my life. I always love cooking for people and I am very customer focused and pay great attention to detail. I have always wanted to be a chef and I am not doing this due to some TV program. I have been helping my son get his cert 3 in commercial cookery as well.
My cooking experience includes working in a pizza/pasta restaurant for 7 years making pastas, salads, schnitzels, sauces, fry and some grill. I have also worked in sandwich shops. I have also done some catering as well and looking hopefully to further my career in this area.
I am willing to start from the bottom and work my way to the top. I love doing prep as well. I am fully up to date with people with food allergies due to my own family members and son being to milk, eggs and flour. So the issue of cross contamination of any foods I am fully aware of. I am also a very hygienic person so I can spot a mess a mile away as well. I am always wanting to learn new dishes and pretty quick to pick things up. I realise that the kitchen gets very heated and people yell and sometimes swear. I have a strong personality with a thick skin and a great sense of humour to cope quiet well under pressure. I have always loved working in the kitchen and find it quiet easily to get along with all people to work in a team and also I can work by myself. I have also great maths skills so weighing ingredients and adding up in multiple is quiet easy. I have my own transport and can drive to and from work with no hassle.
I am available anyday. I don’t smoke, drink alcohol or have tattoos. I will not be wasting your time or taking constant breaks. I am TAFE ready with all uniforms and knives.
