Re: Seeking contract exploration work in Africa
Please allow me to introduce myself. Formerly from Perth, I am an Australian contract senior project exploration geologist living in Mwanza Tanzania since 2001. Mwanza is the regional centre for the Lake Victoria Goldfields in northwestern Tanzania.
I have extensive experience in most types of drilling programs, especially diamond core logging, in gold, coal, DSO & magnetite iron ore, and hydrogeology. Lesser experience in the commodities; copper, uranium, manganese, nickel, kaolin and limestone (cement). Experienced in GPS and photo-geology mapping and report writing, as well as prospect geological evaluations.
In recent years I have worked in French speaking West African countries such as Mauritania (x3), Guinea (x2), DR Congo (x2), Niger (x2), Cote d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso (x2), Madagascar (x3) and Mali. Have also have worked in Liberia, Ghana, and Sierra Leone.
Still young and surprisingly 'trim, fit and healthy'; able to work in rugged remote areas for extended periods of time for however long the job requires.
Most of my experience has been in exploration and resource definition projects. I enjoy doing hands-on field geology and geotechnical work. Training/mentoring junior African geologists in procedures and logging DDH core is becoming a regular part of my work. I am also seeking managerial positions.
I am available at short notice should the company require my services. My daily rates are very competitive.
