A committed enthusiastic Geologist with field experience in porphyry-type, magmatic and base metal mineralisation. Relishes challenges and adopts a positive approach to problem solving and a driving passion to succeed. Strong technical, organisation and communication skills. Currently hold a Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417) - expires March 2021

I have had experience working in the mining industry as an Exploration Geologist for Tethyan Resources, an Eastern-Europe based mining company. In this role tasks included organising the Company’s geological database, handling all geochemical and geophysical results, producing geological maps and drill sections using mining software such as MapInfo as well as field-based work. I was also responsible for creating reports of prospective exploration targets and producing technical images for press releases.

I am also experienced in the field, having to create and carry out stream and soil sampling programmes on various prospective targets as well as detailed core logging both porphyry copper-gold and magmatic nickel-copper core. Geological mapping was carried out in greenfield areas along with old abandoned open mine pits within licenced areas to determine the feasibility of re-opening mines. Tasks also included assisting in planning drilling programmes and creating drill section maps to help determine the underlying mineralisation and prospective areas for secondary diamond drilling.

Most recently I have worked as a Research Analyst for a financed based company Enhance Group. This was a data-based role, where I was mainly focused on improving the input and manipulation of large volumes of numerical data through automation software. During my role as a Research Analyst I became familiar with the advanced analytical programme Alteryx, which is used for automating and analysing numerical data and incorporates the ability to use SQL server databases. I am also currently ‘Alteryx Advanced’ certified, one of only 1800 people worldwide.

I believe I could be a great asset to any team, I am a conscientious person who works hard and pays attention to detail. I’m flexible, quick to pick up new skills and eager to learn from others and have developed strong communication skills.

Work experience

Research Analyst (from August 2018 to February 2020)
Responsible for the upload and management of the Managed Portfolio Indices each quarter. Handling and sorting large sets of numerical data from over 50 different companies. Creating Alteryx workflows to increase productivity and reduce time spent manipulating large volumes of numerical data. Alteryx Advanced Certified (one of less than 2000 people worldwide certified). Prepare and publish/distribute quarterly reports (performance reports, manager reports, focus list reports etc.) using Tableau software. Advanced use of excel formulas and SQL tables.
Exploration Geologist (from March 2017 to May 2018)
Field experience in Serbia, including creating and carrying out stream, soil, rock and channel sampling programmes. Geological mapping and grassroots exploration of potential new exploration targets in Serbia. Corelogging of porphyry copper-gold mineralised core. Extensive Regional Exploration studies of Eastern Europe, evaluating new exploration targets in Albania, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Macedonia and Romania. Economical assessments of projects, including analysis of drill sections and possible extensions for further mineralisation. Advanced knowledge and skills in MapInfo and ArcGIS, responsible for creating all drill sections, sampling programmes and figures for press release. Report writing and general background studies of potential exploration for porphyries and base metal mineralisation. Experience with large datasets, including having to extract and organise a dataset of commodity (gold, lead, zinc) results to distinguish projects feasibility. Market analysis comparing multiple companies capital raising schemes, comparing Market Cap, share price, number of warrants/shares for what price etc. Distinguishing potential feasibility of multiple projects through NPV and discount factor spreadsheets. Use of Isatis for data analysis, including risk analysis, geomodelling and visual representation of data.

During my time at Jacobs Engineering Group (most recent employment) I was an active member of the Jacobs Womens Network and Positive Mental Health Champions Network. I lead the womens network london chapter with a fellow colleague helping to raise awareness of inclusion and diversity and unconcious bias within the work place. I'm really keen to continue my passion for inclusion and diversity as its a topic close to my heart! Additionally I was on the board of the positive mental health champions network, helping to raise awareness of mental health across the construction industry. I took on both these roles in my own time but found them really beneficial to my personal development.
