Disability Care Team Leader | Supported Accommodation - MASCOT (Eastern Suburbs), NSW
Seeking a Full Time Team Leader to manage the day to day operations of one of Supported Accommodation houses in Mascot, Sydney.

In order to achieve the mission of supporting and strengthening the resilience and independence of the community, offering assistance in the areas of Child and Family Services, Mental Health Programs, Disability Services and Community Aged Services.

Within the employer's Disability Services, the Supported Accommodation Program currently provides 24/7 accommodation and support services to 15 individuals across 4 group homes in the Eastern Suburbs. The aim of the program is to develop individual living skills in a caring and supportive environment within the community.
What the role is:
Looking for an experienced Full Time Team Leader to lead and manage a team providing support to clients living in one of the 4 group homes, in Mascot. As Team Leader you will be responsible for ensuring that the people you are supporting have meaningful engagement with the community in all its forms and ensuring their complex needs are being met.
Encouraging you to be creative, flexible and innovative in exploring different ways to support people to live a good life, creating opportunities for the people supporting while guiding your team to perform their best within the values of the organisation.
You will need to be:
Flexible in your working hours, able to start at 06:00 and work the shift that finishes at 22:00, willing to work sleepovers Have an understanding of the NDIS Outcome focused, motivated, able to prioritize your workload and have excellent time management Available to be on-call on a 5-6 week roster basis
Essential CriteriaTertiary qualifications in Disability, Social Work, Social Science, Allied Health or Nursing Strong people management experience, including staff supervision, coaching and ability to facilitate complex team dynamics Ability to facilitate and implement Person Centred plans, Behaviour Support plans and Health Care plans Experience in working with people with a disability and challenging behaviours, preferably within a supported accommodation setting Demonstrated ability to develop a range of activities that encourage access to the community Sound knowledge of NDIS and Supported Independent Living Ability to effectively plan and prioritise workload Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain links with families Current drivers licence and willingness to drive An understanding and commitment to the principles of the Disability Service Standards, knowledge of relevant legislation, WHS legislation and its implications for clients High levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude Intermediate to advanced level of computer skills Demonstrated high level communication skills Willingness to work across a range of shifts including weekends and participate in On Call Roster First Aid Certificate and Epilepsy Certificate or wiliness to obtain prior to commencement
