The Capricorn Copper mine in North West Queensland has successfully produced its first copper concentrate following completion of the mine’s refurbishment and restart project. The mine is moving from ramp up to steady state operations at an ideal time, as the copper market strengthens.
Capricorn Copper has created over 350 full time operational and construction jobs during 2017. Your duties will include but not be limited to:
Mine design for both sub level caving and open stoping across 5 different ore-bodies Scheduling and daily co-ordination with the mining contractor Ventilation and Services Project works on site and ore-body reviews for future targets Assistance across all disciplines in the tech services and operational functions

The Company
This company is highly respected consultancy with an exceptional client base of private and ASX listed companies. They are growing and boast a very strong forward order book, including work on some of Australia's largest infrastructure projects.
With continued growth and a raft of new projects in 2018, we are pleased to present a new opportunity for a unique and ambitious structural design engineer.
The Opportunity
Technically, the prime focus of the role will be design of permanent and temporary structures, as well as providing support to the Directors. Sound design experience in structures will be important and design of marine structures and temporary works whilst advantageous is not essential.
Also important will be your commercial nous, a common sense approach and the ability to liaise and communicate easily with clients and colleagues.
As the bulk of work is for Contractors, previous exposure with Contractors in a design engineering capacity will be advantageous. Whilst the role is primarily office based, there will be some travel and work at site from time to time.
The Person
You’ll be communicative and proactive in your approach and able to work autonomously. Accustomed to working in a smaller consultancy in a close knit and collaborative environment, you will also need to be comfortable liaising with the cut and thrust approach of building and construction contractors.
You’ll be recognized and rewarded with career progression opportunities for delivery of results and strong performance.
If you don’t have local Australian experience, or prefer larger corporate and/or corporate project environments, this probably won’t be the role for you.
The Essential skills
Well developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills • Commercial acumen with a common sense approach • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a smaller team • Be a results oriented performer • Formal engineering qualification recognized by Engineers Australia • Computer literacy (client is paperless and fully cloud based) • Minimum of 3-4 years and up to 10 years structural design experience
This could be your career defining opportunity. To apply email your resume, cover letter and tell us about your achievements and why you are the ideal person for this opportunity!
Applications close Friday 18th May, 2018. To Apply, you must be eligible to work in Australia.
