ABOUT THE ROLE
You will provide acute nursing care with exceptional competence in the Monash Imaging departments of Monash Medical Centre and Monash Children’s Hospital Clayton.

The centre brings together more than 40 world-leading experts who will apply cutting edge science to develop a new generation of ultra-low power electronic devices.
We are looking for an outstanding Research Fellow to join our FLEET team to conduct research in the fabrication and optical/electronic characterization of novel atomically thin semiconductor heterostructures for the observation of exciton and exciton-polariton condensation. We seek an experimental physicist or materials scientist with expertise in van der Waals heterostructures of atomically thin materials, nanofabrication techniques, and electrical and/or optical measurements. 
The successful candidate will work closely with three chief investigators in FLEET, Prof. Michael Fuhrer at Monash, A/Prof. Elena Ostrovskaya at ANU and Prof. Alex Hamilton at UNSW. You will be expected to publish papers in high-impact journals, present results at major conferences and workshops, and to assist in the supervision of PhD and honours students in the centre. The appointment will be made at a level appropriate to your qualifications, experience and in accordance with classification standards for each level.
The successful applicant must hold a PhD in experimental condensed matter physics, materials science, or a closely related field. Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to produce presentations and refereed research papers and reports.
