About the role
In this role you will be required to teach into the Criminology Program and, from time to time, into the Law Program, undertake and publish high quality and high impact research, supervise honours and HDR students, undertake service and engagement activities in the School, build and maintain links and partnerships with relevant academic, industry and professional communities. Your key areas of responsibility follows but not limited to:
Develop, coordinate and teach a high quality learning experience that engages students through the conduct of lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical sessions and/or studio sessions as required. Demonstrate a scholarly approach to learning and teaching and contribute to disciplinary teaching pedagogy and research. Keep abreast of innovations in teaching and learning in areas such as, but not restricted to, online and blended delivery and incorporate where appropriate. Participate in innovative course level curriculum design, development and review. Participate in course level curriculum design and development Conduct and publish, or otherwise disseminate high quality and/or high impact research as a member of a team or independently and produce conference/seminar papers and publications from that research.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role you will have completed either:
a Doctorate in Law in a relevant field;  or a Doctorate in Criminology plus either a law degree with first class honours or a Master of Laws.
You will have a demonstrated capacity for teaching at undergraduate level in subject areas such as  criminal law (domestic and international), forensic psychology, forensic and expert evidence, customs and border protection, juvenile justice, coronial law, and ethics & accountability in criminal justice, preferably with experience in subject co-ordination, and positive teaching evaluations.
You will be a productive researcher with a demonstrated record of publication success, and able to demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively within a team and with others from a range of backgrounds.

Department of Cognitive Science
The Department of Cognitive Science carries out world-leading interdisciplinary research, research training, undergraduate teaching, and engagement across a wide range of domains of cognitive science. Current areas of expertise include attention, perception, motor control, hearing, language, reading, memory, and belief formation. The Department hosts the ARC Centre of Excellence in Cognition and its Disorders (CCD) and is well-equipped to conduct cutting-edge human neuroscience research. The Role
We are seeking a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) to join our team in 2018 who will make a strong contribution to research and teaching in the Department. The successful candidate will be an emerging research leader in any area of Cognitive Science, though preference may be given to applicants with particular expertise in the study of language, cognitive development, or computational neuroscience/modelling.

Selection Criteria
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

About the role
Mater Health Services are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join the Mater Mothers’ Hospital, as Baby Care Assistants in the hospital’s private wards. Successful applicants will be appointed on a permanent part-time or casual basis, working a 6 hour shift from 10.30pm to 5am across 7 days as required. Actual working hours will be discussed with applicants at interview.
The Mater Mothers' Hospital manages over 9,500 births and 2,200 neonatal admissions each year, including at least 120 neonatal retrievals. The Hospital provides antenatal, perinatal and postnatal services and specialise in caring for severe complications in pregnancy, as well as newborn disorders. Additionally, an ambulatory service provides a number of midwifery antenatal outreach clinics and a Home Care Program.
Salary: $24.85 - $26.95 (Operational Officer Level 2) per hour plus casual loading plus superannuation
What you’ll be doing
As a Baby Care Assistant you will be working closely with the Midwifery team in providing support for mothers and their new babies. The main responsibilities of the role include:
Assisting and guiding mothers with breastfeeding Assisting mothers with hand and pump expressing as required Assisting and providing guidance for parents on settling techniques Providing guidance and advice on baby handling and bathing General cleaning and stocking
To be considered suitable for these positions you need to have completed a Certificate III in Children’s Services (or equivalent) and have experience caring for babies, ideally within a work environment.
