Applicants will hold a registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, along with a PhD in a relevant health discipline or Master of Nursing qualification. Demonstrated specialist clinical knowledge of contemporary nursing theory and practice, and the capacity to translate this to the Bachelor of Nursing program. 
Appointment to Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor will be at a Level C or D continuing (tenured) role with the requirement that the appointee fulfil the leadership role of Director for a period of five years’ renewable. This position will be based in Launceston or Hobart. Appointment will be at Academic Level C or D and will have a total remuneration package of up to $172,089 comprising a base salary within the range of $112,184 to $147,085 plus 17% superannuation. The College of Health and Medicine provides high quality research and education, the latter specifically attuned to health workforce needs and reform. Researchers across the College engage with Tasmania as a 'living laboratory' to develop innovative approaches to quality health care, particularly in the areas of chronic disease management and diseases associated with ageing, to address fundamental health care issues facing Australia.
The Academic Lead Community Placements will be responsible for managing general practice and aged care community placements for MBBS students in southern Tasmania.  This will include quality assurance of general practice and aged care placement and academic support of preceptors and supervisors of those student placements.
In the role you will:
Recruit and support suitable general practice and aged care teaching placements for medical students in southern Tasmania. Provide training and support for supervisors and preceptors of general practice and aged care teaching placements for medical students. Manage quality assurance of community teaching placements for medical students in general practice and aged care. Undertake teaching, assessment and remediation for medical students in community placements in general practice and aged care.  Carry out high-quality research of national standing and publication of your research findings.
You will be employed on a 50% fractional, 2 year fixed term basis.

Completion of a recognised medical degree, together with postgraduate teaching or research qualifications, or equivalent, and current Australian registration as a medical practitioner. Sandy Bay location, local school, regular 2:45 (3:00 at school) to 5:45 sort of thing. In addition to this, we will most likely need some half or full days care in school holidays.
