ABOUT THE POSITION
As the leading private, not for profit hospital and aged care group in Central Queensland, Mercy Health & Aged Care is seeking to recruit a Clinical Coder for our facility in Bundaberg.
The Clinical Coder is responsible for the accurate translation of diseases, injuries and procedures into alphanumeric codes using ICD-10-AM and assignment of AR-DRGs within Mercy Health & Aged Care Central Queensland Limited timeframes. 
This role presents an excellent opportunity to work as part of a friendly and supportive team. The role is located in the Medical Records Department.
This position is being offered on a full-time or part-time basis (hours negotiable).  
Knowledge of AR-DRG's, casemix, Private Hospital funding and health fund contracts is desirable. Intermediate and/or advanced ICD-10-AM Clinical Coding qualifications or progression towards along with a minimum 2 years Clinical coding experience in an Acute hospital setting are also desirable.
Coding experience in a private hospital setting is preferred.
To be considered for this role you must:
have introductory ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS Clinical Coding qualification or Cert IV Clinical Classification or equivalent be proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word. have excellent organisation and time management skills.

About the Position
Located on our spacious campus at Bundaberg East, Anglicare SQ’s fully accredited service of Meilene, is strengthened by a team of values-driven professionals who sincerely care about what we do and the difference we make in our residents’ lives. The service is focused on providing excellent 24 hour nursing and care assistance and also provides special accommodation and recreational amenities for those with dementia. Short-term residential respite is also available. Meaning 'welcome', Meilene is the name of the homestead which originally stood on the property.
We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse with ACFI experience to join our team. The role will entail duties as a Coordinator for around 20 hours per week, and clinical duties as a Registered Nurse for approximately 10 hours per week.  You will need to have previous experience with funding business rules and assessment procedures, or a keen interest in developing these skills, as the overall purpose is to provide effective, accurate and detailed submissions of claims.
The ACFI Coordinator works closely with clinical and allied health staff and management to conduct ACFI assessments and maintain them to maximise funding. It is also responsible for the review of processes to achieve best possible care outcomes. Nursing responsibilities include providing comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments and care plans.
 
About You
Along with your professional attitude and a successful career as a registered nurse, your experience will have developed to include:
Knowledge of ACFI, including assessments, claims submissions and working within policies and guidelines Strong clinical background and skills in palliative care, wound care, medication management and/or post-acute care within an aged residential environment Previous experience in the review of audits and reports and the confidence to implement process outcomes and improvements Strong relationship building and networking skills to promote and provide information-sharing and learning in a team environment Ability to monitor and report on ACFI performance within the facility and identify action areas Proven skills in analysis, problem solving, negotiation and critical thinking Exceptional time management and organisational abilities - ensuring documentation is completed accurately and on time Advanced written and verbal communication skills, relating to a large and diverse range of stakeholders Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word & Excel

Degree in Nursing, current registration with AHPRA and evidence of recent practice A National Police Certificate
