About the role
The Men’s Worker responds to family and domestic violence (FDV) in Broome by providing proactive interventions to men perpetrating family violence as well as community education initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities
Below is a brief outline of some of the duties and responsibilities of the role:
Contribute to joint responses including specialist FDV risk assessments, safety planning, proactive outreach, home visits and management of high risk. Provision of individual counselling and group work interventions specific to men’s behaviour change work. Attendance and relevant contribution to case management and formal multi-agency case management meetings. Ensure the service operates with a primary emphasis on the safety of adult victims, children while holding men accountable May be required to travel to meet operational requirements. Network with appropriate agencies within the community and government to promote the services of the program.
 
Selection Criteria
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
Tertiary qualifications in Human Services and/or significant industry experience with specialist knowledge relevant to the position or equivalent knowledge of and experience working with aboriginal families. Experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Experience in working with individuals and families affected by family violence. Good written, oral and interpersonal communication, including ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal people. Knowledge and experience of intervention models appropriate to working with FDV perpetrators. Knowledge of the impact of family violence on adult victims, children, young people and communities. Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team.
The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and WA Drivers Licence.
 
Remuneration
