DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Geotechnical Civil Engineer

Travel within Regional Victoria and Southern NSW.
Increasing corporate profitability
Maintaining existing level of work performance.
Undertake Geotechnical investigations for residential, commercial and industrial developments including buildings, bridges and pavements.
Analyse field investigation and laboratory test results and prepare Geotechnical Reports.
Develop proposals and determine the costs.
Provide direction to the technical team in their field investigation activities.
Interact with clients and team members to complete projects on-time.
Perform basic office administration tasks when needed.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE - Geotechnical Civil Engineer

Must be able to work permanently in Australia.
Must have a Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering Degree.
Must have between 2 – 5 years of Geotechnical experience.
Must have residential site classification experience
Must have good knowledge of construction materials testing.
Must have good report writing skills
Must have drilling experience
Must understand the needs of business and have a sense of urgency.
Must be willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done without taking short cuts.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Must have a great worth ethic.
Must have a proven record of achieving results through their team.
Must be willing to travel to Echuca and Bendigo to undertake work.
Must have referees who are business owners and can vouch for their work ethic and achievements

The role leads a large indigenous team of Facilities Managers who lead teams of professionals delivering hard and soft services to the commercial property portfolio. 
What you'll need to succeed
Candidates would need to be experienced and Senior Facility Management professionals with significant experience managing large multi-site teams. Applicants would need to have a strong technical background and to be genuine subject matter experts in term of the engineering challenges faced managing large commercial buildings. Applicants would need to understand the detail clearly, so are able to manage all Building services contract administration and procurement to ensure all technical, risk and statutory requirements are met and services are maintained within operational budgets.
As well as the technical skills, applicants would need to be good people managers with a flexible management style, able to find ways of motivating and managing a good sized indigenous workforce in a developing nation to deliver a standard of service expected by a developed nation client.
It is anticipated that successful candidate would have some proven experience of similar role in a developing nation and would have spent time in an expat as opposed to FIFO role.
