Environmental Industries has an immediate requirement for a highly motivated and experienced Estimator to join our team at Canning Vale. Reporting to the Senior Estimator, it is essential that you can demonstrate a background in landscape construction and civil works projects and previous experience working within a medium size organisation will be highly regarded.

Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Accountable for all tender submissions and estimates ensuring delivery of quality, timely and cost effective solutions for Clients and the Company
Interpret design, drafting and drawing concepts to produce accurate quantity take-offs, costings, estimates on a first principles basis , construction methodologies and tender programs
Review Tender Documentation and provide value engineering solutions and alternative optional cost savings where applicable to the Tender
Prepare high level budget cost estimates
Review and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations and conduct risk assessments throughout the tender management process
Participate in and coordinate meetings with Clients and trades as required
Ensure estimates are completed on time and in alignment with company procedures and costing methodology
Build and maintain excellent communications and relationships with internal and external customers and key stakeholders
Provide quality control audits on final project estimates to identify any deficiencies or inaccuracies
Submit project specific estimation information to Senior Estimator for final sign off and handover to the Project Manager within the benchmark timeframes
Maintain labour cost and supplier information database ensuring it is accurate and current at all times
Update and maintain company estimating system
Deliver estimating data analysis and reporting as required
Provide ongoing support as required to the Senior Estimator and other team members

Skills and Experience:
2- 5 years plus experience in the civil, building or landscape construction industry
Extensive estimating experience with a high degree of accuracy
Sound knowledge of competitor pricing and estimating within landscaping, building and or civil works
Proficient in the use of estimating systems
High level coordinating and time management skills
Effective communication and negotiation skills with a high attention to detail
Advanced computer skills with the ability to prepare detailed reports
Strong business and financial acumen
Ability to influence and negotiate with contractors and suppliers

Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
Diploma qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
Certificate IV in Horticulture (desirable but not essential)

National Police Clearance (within last 6 months at own cost)

The Role:
As the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for planning, directing and controlling the engineering and manufacturing operations within the Custom Solutions department.
Define, implement and monitor the engineering strategies, policies and processes that drive Custom Solutions business. Interpret customer drawings, specifications, system parameters and any unique operational or site requirements, and create and present proposed engineered solutions to the customer Provide leadership in the development and execution of engineering methods and procedures that deliver projects on time, to specification and within budget. Ensure conformity with all local and national Codes, Standards, Laws and Regulations. Oversee the management of third party inspection agencies and test authorities. Liaise with Sales, Operations and Quality department managers to ensure engineered solutions fully meet customer expectations and are manufactured in line with established company processes. Qualifications and Requirements:
Engineering Degree qualification 3+ years Managerial / Supervisory experience within a production environment Experience of SAP or similar ERP system Proven track record of successfully applying project management software and other project tools to help deliver projects on time, to specification and within budget Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 6 SIGMA and Product Quality Planning methodologies Experience in Process Management within an ISO9001 Quality Management environment Experience designing or installing fluid systems Understanding of safe practices associated with High Pressure Fluid Handling Knowledge of process analyser sampling systems, high purity welding techniques (Orbital welding) or SMART system design principles is desirable Benefits:
