• Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
• Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
• Analyse and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues
• Analysis and documentation of internal controls and control environments
• Prepare analysis of accounts as requested by the Management
• Keeping the ECA group CFO informed of progress on the engagement and be alert to potential problem areas or budget difficulties
• Involvement in supervising and training junior staff on audit related matters
• Proficiency in relevant accounting software (MYOB and Xero).

Candidate
The successful candidate will be a motivated Accountant with minimum 2 years’ experience. You will need to possess the following skills and personal attributes:
• Relevant qualification at the level of a Bachelor’s degree or higher and at least 3 years of relevant work experience preferable in Education sector preferably in managing the accounting functions in the professional year program (PYP).
• Skills and work experience assessment, by the Department of Home affairs approved Skills assessment bodies such as ICAA, CPA etc. as an appropriately qualified accountant having undertaken appropriate level of work experience in Australia as an accountant.
• The ability to organise your work, setting priorities and meeting reporting/statutory deadlines
• Knowledge of finance principles and financial reporting
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding finances and taxation.
• Exceptional analytical skills
• Strong Microsoft Office and Accounting Software skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
