About the role
Blue Ocean Monitoring (Blue Ocean) continue to expand their global team and seek an Operations Engineer/Project Manager to join its Perth team.

You will play a key role in project planning, system preparation, mobilisation, deployment, piloting, and operations support.  Your role will also include the maintenance and modification of autonomous vehicles and associated sub-systems and sensors.  The position is Perth based and will require travel within Australia and internationally, including working offshore and potentially in remote locations.  Blue Ocean will support further training and development opportunities; and provide specific training in autonomous vehicle operations and maintenance.  This is a permanent, full-time position, with immediate start available, offered on Blue Ocean terms and conditions (to be provided on application).
A degree in an engineering subject or equivalent higher/further education in a related field with relevant employment experience is required, as is a track record of solving engineering problems. You will have experience in operating marine instrumentation, and a working knowledge of autonomous vehicle principles and operations will be highly valued. Seeking an experienced Mining Engineer for a permanent FIFO position in an Underground Metalliferous Mine.
Your new company
Capricorn Copper is a joint venture of EMR Capital and Lighthouse Minerals; this is your opportunity to join a growing Australian resources company on the upward trajectory with a strong growth strategy and real success story. They are now seeking the support of an experienced Mining Engineer to join their mining operation situated in the Mount Isa region.
The Capricorn Copper mine in North West Queensland has successfully produced its first copper concentrate following completion of the mine’s refurbishment and restart project. The mine is moving from ramp up to steady state operations at an ideal time, as the copper market strengthens.
Capricorn Copper has created over 350 full time operational and construction jobs during 2017. In recognition of the importance of the project for the region and the state, the Minister for State Development, Anthony Lynham, declared the Capricorn Copper mine and its Refurbishment and Restart a Prescribed Project. Project highlights include:
First production of high grade, high quality copper concentrate on time and on budget. Copper price has increased over 30% since the commencement of the Refurbishment and Restart Project in November 2016. The project expects to produce approximately 30,000 tonnes per year of copper in a high grade and quality concentrate over an initial mine life of ten years. Large high grade resource, and strong exploration results to support a mine life beyond ten years with potential for further expansion.

Capricorn Copper is seeking the support of an experienced Mining Engineer to join their mining operation in the Mount Isa region.
Supporting the Senior Mining Engineer, your core duties will include all aspects and responsibilities of a qualified Mining Engineer. With a small team you will gain valuable exposure to all elements of underground mining, rather than being pigeon holed in a single function. You will have a unique opportunity to join a lean hands on team at the start of a mines life and will see a strong connection between your efforts and the success of the organisation. Your duties will include but not be limited to:
Mine design for both sub level caving and open stoping across 5 different ore-bodies Scheduling and daily co-ordination with the mining contractor Ventilation and Services Project works on site and ore-body reviews for future targets Assistance across all disciplines in the tech services and operational functions

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will have 2-5 years mining experience, hold a relevant Mining Engineering degree/or qualification and have an in-depth knowledge of underground Metalliferous operations. Experience in open stoping and/or sub-level caving will be highly regarded, along with familiarity with the Deswik suite of software. You will pride yourself on safely delivering operational targets and enjoy the autonomy and accountability to see through your mine designs and ideas into direct operational outcomes.
