Position: Plumbing Officer
Location: Bundaberg
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
Level: 5
Remuneration:
• $ 75,708 per annum
• Up to 12% Superannuation (Local Government Conditions apply to superannuation)
• 3 weekly Rostered days off
The Position:
Provide a broad range of plumbing related services including plumbing compliance assessment and regulation of trade waste, building over sewers , water and sewerage connections, domestic wastewater treatment plants, backflow prevention in accordance with legislation and Council policy.
Selection Criteria:
1. Possession of a Current 'C' class drivers licence;
2. Previous experience in the Plumbing and Drainage industry;
3. Proven ability to build rapport and effective working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, management and members of the public, teamed with the ability to communicate appropriate both verbally and in writing. An attitude to take personal responsibility for promptly handling and resolving we tasks;
4. Registered Licenced Plumber and Drainer;
5. Qualification in on-site sewerage treatment facility maintenance and design;
6. Skilled in the use of computer and industry standard software (knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office, Authority Software, Mapping Software);
7. High level skills in written and oral communication and customer service skills;
8. Working knowledge of the relevant Acts, Regulations, Codes and Standards; State Legislation and standard State, Federal and Local Government Policies, Guidelines and Codes;
9. Ability to work across the Region supporting assessment and compliance.

Position: Senior Planner

The Position:
The focus of this position is to lead a small team of planning officers in providing planning support to the Development Assessment section and Development Group.   The position has a key role in the provision of expert planning advice and assessment of the impacts of development activities with the Region to ensure development reflects Council’s desired objectives and standards whilst also ensuring that land use and development meet statutory requirements and community expectations.  The role will also ensure that the work of reporting staff achieves the same standards.
The duties of the position are to be carried out in a way that realises Council’s desired outcomes and community expectations for development in the region, whilst at the same time achieves effective engagement with key internal and external stakeholders, and delivers excellent service to our customers.  The position will also be heavily involved in assisting the Principal Planner and Manager Development Assessment to implement and encourage a performance focussed, team-orientated culture within the Development Assessment team. 
Selection Criteria:
1. Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning;
2. Detailed knowledge of the Planning Act 2016 and other legislation related to the development assessment process, including the Bundaberg Regional Council Planning Scheme 2015;
3. Demonstrated ability to project manage the assessment of large and complex development applications;
4. High level of knowledge and understanding of integrated planning principles;
5. Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
6. Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve the provision of excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.
