About the Position

This rare opportunity based at our well-equipped workshop at Williamstown will be responsible for the provision of a broad range of efficient and effective electrical trade services that are delivered by the South Para electrical team.  Reporting to the Workshop Coordinator, the core functions of the role include capital project delivery, and both reactive/breakdown and preventative maintenance across a wide asset base of electrical infrastructure including complex automation systems, instrumentation, SCADA networks and high voltage apparatus.
The role operates within a high-pressure environment and the successful incumbent will be expected to juggle a multiple of priorities against conflicting tight timeframes and deadlines.  To be considered you will need to be able to demonstrate prior experience in previous leadership roles, with a proven track record in leading, motivating and mentoring direct reports along with the provision of detailed technical support and problem solving.
It is essential that you are trade qualified and hold an unrestricted SA electrical  workers registration.  You will also hold post-trade qualifications or have extensive experience in automation/PLC/DCS, SCADA (field networks & hardware) and instrumentation.  Experience with high voltage infrastructure & high voltage switching practices is highly desirable.  The possession of a diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent would also be viewed favourably.  You will have experience in all facets of the delivery of capital projects including provision of designs, estimates, budgeting, procurement, site  installation and commissioning activities.
The role requires strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral, along with strong negotiation skills.  The possession of an unrestricted drivers licence is mandatory as is the participation in an after-hours on call roster which attracts generous allowances and recall provisions.  The working of overtime at short notices is a requirement of the role.  Frequent intra & interstate travel necessitating overnight absences will also be required.
The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and customer service as well as a clear focus on environmental and water quality obligations.
Salary range $81,173 - $88,550 + Superannuation + trade and on call allowances.  The role is provided with a fully-maintained company vehicle, along with a laptop, mobile phone and some tools of trade.  A fully-subsidised uniform is also provided for wearing whilst at work..
