Reporting to the Regional Manager East , you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Plan and schedule drill and blast activities (open cut coal) • Plan, monitor, review and release plant as required by the program and progress of the work. • Ensure maintenance personnel are provided access to plant to maintain equipment in accordance with company policy and OEM recommendations. • Ensure that Action Drill & Blast’s reporting requirements are met. • Communicate regularly with site personnel on day to day business matters. • Maintain regular appropriate communication with divisional staff and projects. • Consistently communicate with client’s site and key representatives. • Identify any work outside the contracted scope (variations) and ensure the Regional Manager are aware of the variation to the contract. • Ensure project personnel follow all Company policies & procedures.
Experience required:

The Chief Inspector of Mines will provide strategic advice to Government, industry and the community in relation to safety and health and its regulation. The Chief Inspector will also lead the inspectorate to identify, and monitor industry's performance in addressing emerging risks.
The right candidate will have an extensive strategic leadership background with proven commercial capabilities in an organisation within the mining industry, you will have good political acumen and the ability to develop relationships with critical stakeholders that will need to be effectively managed and communicated with.
This is an important role for our client and will require someone who is highly efficient, strategic, personable and holds themselves accountable.

The role:
Provide effective leadership to the Mines Inspectorate, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and development. Advocate DNRME's Vision, Values and Strategic Plan to all stakeholders. Deliver the Mines Inspectorate Business Operational Plan, including inspections, audits and investigations into accidents and incidents and reported breaches of legislation. Provide professional and timely advice on strategic, technical and operational matters to the Executive Director Resource Safety and Health, Director-General DNRME and Minister. Engage with all relevant stakeholders including employers, workers, unions, industry organisations and government agencies, to maintain effective working relationships to secure commitment to the government's objectives and enhance confidence in the role of the regulator. Participate on relevant committees and working groups. Maintain an awareness of developments in the mining industry including operating methods, technology advancement, equipment and products, as they impact upon safety and health.
What you need:
15+ Years' experience in the mining industry. QLD First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency. Proven successful long-term experience in a commercial strategic leadership position. Ability to negotiate firmly and tactfully in sensitive or difficult situations with a range of stakeholders. Experience building strategic professional relationships with multiple contacts for the long-term benefit of the department.
