Your new role

THE ROLE
The alcohol and drug (AOD) and mental health Aboriginal community worker will deliver a cuturally secure outreach support service to the community alongside and with the support of the South Coastal Babbingur Mia team. The role is in the main an outreach service providing support (mainly weekdays and some weekends) to men and families struggling with AOD and mental health issues, working with allied agencies including referrals and shared care. 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Engage and build relationships with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island community regarding culturally sensitive AOD and Mental Health services. Provide support to men and families (outreach) in a flexible, pro-active, person-centred approach. Collaborate and communicate with other AOD & MH Support Services, Allied Health Services and support networks. Develop and maintain partnerships with relevant agencies. Investigate and develop Activities to support clients. Work and collaborate with the other AOD & Mental Health Community Support Worker and other South Coastal staff to ensure an excellent service.
